About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Operations to lead our UK-based supply chain and logistics division. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the department, driving operational excellence across multiple regional distribution centres, and ensuring we consistently exceed our commercial targets. You will work closely with the executive board to align operational capabilities with our ambitious growth plans, identifying new efficiencies and championing a culture of continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of leading large, multi-site teams within a fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environment. You will be a decisive leader capable of navigating complex operational challenges, from managing tight margins to implementing large-scale change management initiatives. This is a highly visible role offering genuine autonomy to reshape our operational infrastructure. You will be based out of our Manchester headquarters with regular travel to our satellite sites across the Midlands and the South Coast, ensuring front-line teams are supported and company standards are uniformly maintained.
What You'll Do
Core responsibilities and daily activities in this role
Direct the end-to-end operations of four regional distribution centres, ensuring optimal throughput, cost control, and service levels
Develop and execute a comprehensive operational strategy that supports the company's five-year growth plan and EBITDA targets
Lead, mentor, and develop a senior management team of six, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture
Own the operational P&L, preparing monthly variance reports and presenting actionable insights to the executive board
Drive supply chain transformation projects, including the recent integration of a new WMS across all sites
Establish and monitor KPIs relating to quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction, implementing corrective actions where necessary
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key third-party logistics providers and external partners
Ensure strict compliance with all UK health and safety regulations, conducting quarterly audits across all operational facilities

Competitive base salary of £120,000 to £140,000 plus an annual performance bonus of up to 30%
