About the Job
We are partnering with an established, London-based venture capital firm that specialises in early-stage and Series A investments within the B2B SaaS and deep tech sectors. With a proven track record of backing industry-disrupting founders and deploying over £200 million in the last decade, they are now looking to expand their investment team with the addition of a driven Investment Manager.
In this role, you will sit at the heart of the deal execution process, taking ownership of the end-to-end investment lifecycle from initial sourcing and thesis generation through to financial modelling, due diligence, and portfolio support. You will work closely with the two founding partners, gaining direct exposure to some of the most innovative start-ups emerging from the UK and European tech ecosystems.
This is a high-visibility position suited to a financially literate, intellectually curious professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will have the autonomy to build your own sourcing pipeline while benefiting from the firm's established network of co-investors, accelerators, and founder communities.
What You'll Do
Core responsibilities and daily activities in this role
Source and evaluate early-stage investment opportunities, building a strong personal pipeline of prospective founders and start-ups
Develop and refine investment theses for targeted sub-sectors within B2B SaaS and deep tech
Lead comprehensive commercial and financial due diligence, including building detailed financial models, scenario analysis, and return calculations
Prepare compelling investment committee papers that clearly articulate the market opportunity, competitive landscape, and risk profile
Negotiate deal terms in collaboration with legal counsel, focusing on valuation, share structures, and investor rights
Monitor and support the existing portfolio, attending board meetings, tracking KPIs, and assisting founders with strategic challenges and follow-on funding
Represent the firm at industry events, demo days, and conferences to build brand presence and expand the deal flow network
Conduct thorough market mapping exercises to identify emerging trends and potential white spaces for future investment
