We are partnering with an established London-based venture capital firm that specialises in early-stage and Series A investments within the deep tech and enterprise SaaS sectors. With a proven track record of backing category-defining businesses and over £300 million in assets under management, the firm is looking to expand its investment team. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their portfolio while working alongside seasoned operators and investors.
As an Investment Manager, you will sit at the heart of the deal execution process, taking ownership of the end-to-end investment lifecycle from initial sourcing and screening through to financial modelling, due diligence, and board-level execution. You will be expected to build strong relationships within the UK and European tech ecosystems, acting as a trusted advisor to founders and an internal champion for high-potential deals. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a high-pace, intellectually rigorous environment and possesses a deep curiosity for technology markets.
Beyond traditional deal execution, you will be instrumental in supporting portfolio companies post-investment, leveraging your operational insight to guide them through scale-up challenges, subsequent funding rounds, and strategic hiring. This role offers a genuine pathway to partnership for a driven individual who can consistently demonstrate exceptional commercial judgement and an ability to originate proprietary deal flow.
What You'll Do
Core responsibilities and daily activities in this role
Lead the end-to-end execution of early-stage and Series A venture capital investments, managing complex transaction processes from term sheet to close
Conduct rigorous commercial, financial, and technical due diligence, building comprehensive investment memos for presentation to the investment committee
Build and maintain complex financial models to assess unit economics, valuation scenarios, and return profiles for prospective investments
Develop and nurture a proprietary deal sourcing network by actively engaging with founders, angel investors, accelerators, and tech ecosystem leaders across the UK and Europe
Provide hands-on operational support and strategic guidance to portfolio company founders, assisting with go-to-market strategy, subsequent fundraising, and executive recruitment
Monitor macroeconomic trends, emerging technology sub-sectors, and competitor activity to identify new investment themes and refine the firm's macro thesis
Represent the firm at industry conferences, pitch days, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and deal flow pipeline
Collaborate closely with the platform team to ensure seamless onboarding of new portfolio companies and facilitate knowledge sharing across the existing portfolio
