About the Job
We are partnering with a leading venture capital firm that is heavily focused on the next generation of connectivity, specifically within the 5G technology landscape across the digital and creative sectors. As they expand their footprint in Eastern Europe, they are seeking a driven Investment Analyst to join their team on a contract basis. Based in our hybrid office in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, you will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and supporting high-growth startups that are leveraging 5G infrastructure to revolutionise digital media, immersive gaming, and the creative arts.
This is a unique opportunity for an early-career professional with one to three years of experience to step directly into the fast-paced world of venture capital. You will bridge the gap between deep technical innovation in 5G and the commercial application within creative industries. The successful candidate will work closely with senior partners to conduct due diligence, build financial models, and monitor the performance of an emerging portfolio of cutting-edge technology companies.
What You'll Do
Core responsibilities and daily activities in this role
Conduct comprehensive market research and mapping of the 5G technology ecosystem, specifically identifying startups utilising advanced connectivity for digital and creative applications
Perform rigorous financial modelling, valuation analysis, and return scenario planning for prospective early-stage and Series A investments
Lead the initial screening of inbound deal flow, assessing business plans, product-market fit, and the technical feasibility of 5G integration
Support senior investment managers throughout the entire due diligence process, including technical deep-dives, commercial referencing, and legal reviews
Draft detailed investment committee papers that clearly articulate the investment thesis, associated risks, and strategic value for the fund
Monitor and track the operational and financial performance of existing portfolio companies, providing actionable insights and quarterly reporting
Build and maintain a strong network within the regional and European 5G, digital media, and venture capital communities to source proprietary deal flow
Facilitate communication between portfolio founders and the firm's operational partners to support go-to-market strategies and subsequent funding rounds
