About the Job
We are seeking a highly capable Contract Manager/Director to lead our remote contract recruitment division during a period of strategic growth. This part-time leadership role is uniquely designed for an experienced recruiter who has stepped back from a full-time desk but still wants to drive a high-performing team and generate significant contract billings across the UK market.
In this position, you will take ownership of our existing contract temp desk, overseeing a small pod of consultants while actively leveraging your own established client network to open new accounts. You will be responsible for shaping our contractor placement strategy, ensuring high fill rates, and maintaining robust compliance standards within the fast-paced umbrella and limited company engagement landscape.
This is a genuine flexible leadership opportunity. Working approximately twenty hours per week, you will have the autonomy to structure your diary around client meetings, candidate interviews, and team catch-ups. You will be joining a supportive, established recruitment business that values sustainable growth over aggressive micro-management, offering you the perfect platform to lead, mentor, and bill on your own terms.
What You'll Do
Core responsibilities and daily activities in this role
Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of contract recruitment consultants, setting clear KPIs and providing weekly 1-2-1 coaching to improve their desk performance.
Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy to secure new contract vacancies with key UK clients across your specialist sectors.
Maintain and grow your own active client portfolio, personally managing senior stakeholder relationships and negotiating master vendor and neutral vendor agreements.
Oversee the end-to-end contractor placement lifecycle, ensuring rapid candidate shortlisting, interview coordination, and offer management to minimise time-to-hire.
Ensure strict adherence to UK recruitment compliance, including right-to-work checks, IR35 assessments, and umbrella company due diligence.
Monitor contractor retention and extension rates, conducting regular candidate care calls to secure repeat business and secure long-term placements.
Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to resolve timesheet queries, payment disputes, and margin tracking effectively.
Report directly to the Managing Director, providing monthly updates on team performance, pipeline health, and gross profit margins.

About Samba TV
Television remains a vibrant cultural influence and an essential source of entertainment and information worldwide. Tremendous growth in content choices, and viewing platforms that allow us to watch anything, anytime, on any screen, has actually made it harder for viewers to discover and keep up with all the great programming available. It’s also more competitive for content providers to keep your attention, and for marketers to make strong, measurable connections with their target consumers.
Technology that improves the viewing experience, enables content discovery, and addresses audience fragmentation across screens will strengthen television’s business model and relevance to consumers. Data is at the center of any solution to make TV better.
Samba TV's technology is built into Smart TVs and easily maps to smart phones and tablets. By recognizing what's on screen, Samba TV learns what viewers like and using machine learning algorithms, enables discovery of shows and actors in a whole new way.
Likewise, our data and measurement products are transforming the way stakeholders across the media landscape are thinking about their business. Given the dramatic growth in streaming services, connected devices, time-shifting, and multi-screen viewership, our data products solve real problems and create a meaningful competitive advantage for our clients.
